I would think that a lemon butter sauce or a herb butter sauce would go great with all of these things.Anyone have a recipe for a really good sauce that can be served over steak, salmon and pasta?
Melt butter on a low heat and add flour to make a Rue(sp?) While it is still warm mince up a little scallion and a grape tomato with a touch of fresh parsley. Add to Rue and keep warm to diffuse flavors throughout. This will go well with both the Salmon and Steak. However I would not add to pasta as ou really do not want the same sauce on all of the meal or there will be no contrast of flavors.
Something lighter on the pasta would be better. A little olive oil with salt would help to capture all the flavors.
Does he like garlic? If so,this is my mom's famous Homemade Garlic Sauce recipe. We use it for all kinds of meat and pasta,it's delicious...but with all that garlic,Valentine's Day might not be as romantic as planned (hee! hee!)
